This may be the holy grail pair of Dave Matthews Band Posters. Dating to May 2008, this two-night-stand of concerts at Burgettstown's Post Gazette Pavilion (now known as the Pavilion at Star Lake) is an extremely limited run of 320 posters in each design. 640 of these posters exist in the world and this is your chance to own two of them. Both posters were designed by Methane Studios and both are hand-numbered and signed.
They are silk-screened designs on heavy weight cream paper. Both feature creamy yellow and black with a steel grey sky in the background. The May 30 poster features one of Pittsburgh's famed Three Sisters Bridges.
The Sixth, Seventh, and Ninth Street Bridges were built between 1924 and 1928 and are currently named for Roberto Clemente, Andy Warhol, and Rachel Carson. There's a subtle sunburst effect in the heavy black print showing the bridge and Mellon Bank tower in shadow. This poster is numbered 149/320.
The May 31 poster shows the gate houses and graceful arches of the Smithfield Street Bridge, built in 1883, and the U. Steel Tower and PPG Place in shadow. There is the same sunburst effect. The poster is numbered 90/320.
NOTE: there is an instance of ink overrun and two small areas of stacking marks to be seen. This pair of posters has been wrapped in acid-free tissue and stored in a tube for years now, so it's time to pass them onto someone who will love and show them off. The posters measure 25" in height by 17.25" in width.
